While the LGBTQ Caucus of Social Work Students & Faculty was formed in 2004, there were quite a few events, projects, and committees that led up to it. A special THANK YOU to Dr. James Martin for compiling this important tracing of our history, below.

Where we are today
Where we are today
More recently, the Q Caucus has continued to build our infrastructure and programming. Beginning in 2017 we have published booklets of members currently on the job market and in 2020 we held a panel of faculty to share their experiences around being LGBTQ+ on the academic job market. In non-pandemic years, we continue to hold meetings at both the CSWE APM and annual SSWR conference, with an eye on additional virtual membership meetings. We continue to have a CSOGIE liaison present at our monthly board meetings.
